Hi friends!

Thursday, October 18th is Spirit Day! The day will include many ways for us to stand against bullying of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) youth.  One simple way we can participate is by wearing purple to show support to the community. I promise to fight for a world where LGBTQ kids, teens, young adults, and adults may live authentically and without fear for their safety. I’m participating in Spirit Day by wearing purple on the 18th, changing my Facebook profile to the GLAAD frame with the anti-bullying message, and donating to the local GLAAD chapter.  If you’d like to take the pledge to end bullying go here.

In preparation for Spirit Day I’d like to share my playlist from Pride 2018…

In solidarity and with love,

Dancing On My Own – Robyn

I be cruisin’ down the grade listening to the hypnotic electronic dance heartbreak disco anthem from the Sweedish singer Robyn.  It is one everyone can relate to . . . the feeling of being lonely and feeling isolated in our own experiences. We’re all together in our aloneness we are just experiencing it in different ways if not at the same time. But the melody! Wheee!

Closer – Tegan and Sara

Next I be doing my budget spreadsheets at work spinning in my office chair to the Canadian Alt rockers (and twins!) as they sing of romantic anticipation in this oh-so sweet, happy, pop-y love song. Bounce, bounce, bounce!!

Born This Way – Lady Gaga

Gaga’s exploding club anthem with messages of freedom and empowerment will make you dance all the way through the grocery store or laundromat naw.

I Want To Break Free – Queen

The eighties anthem with Freddy’s unmistakable voooooooice! *Le sigh*

It’s strange but it’s true
I can’t get over the way you love me like you do
But I have to be sure
When I walk out that door
Oh how I want to be free, baby

Let’s Have a Kiki – Scissor Sisters

Oooooh gurl! This make me want to dress up in drag and play some air bongos and perform a brilliant dance routine with my friends.  AND-Bonus (!) The CD also contains the song “San Luis Obispo”.  How fun for us SLOcals!  😀

The Jean Geenie – David Bowie

Damn, this sexy and catchy thumping riff right here though! Ya, yas, and more yas.
