Behold! I present to you four special ways to make a positive difference in somebody’s life this Halloween
#1) Put out a teal pumpkin and let kids with food allergies come grab a safe treat from your home
Teal Pumpkin Project
Total cost – FREE
Total time – Five minutes
https://www.foodallergy.org/education-awareness/teal-pumpkin-project
Putting a teal pumpkin on your doorstep means you have non-food treats available, such as glow sticks or small toys. This simple act promotes inclusion for trick-or-treaters with food allergies or other conditions. (If you don’t have a teal pumpkin you can print the poster from their website identifying your home as allergy free treat givers.)
- Provide non-food treats for trick-or-treaters
- Place a teal pumpkin in front of your home to indicate to passersby that you have non-food treats available
- Add your home to the Teal Pumpkin Project map
#2) Send a Halloween Card to a child in the hospital on Halloween *and* raise funds for treating hospitalized children
Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Halloween card project
Total cost – FREE
Total time – 30 seconds
Choose a card and add a note to help make Halloween extra special for a CHLA (Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles) patient this year.
For each card sent before October 30th, an anonymous donor has pledged to give $1 to CHLA’s Helping Hands Fund, up to $25,000!

Send your card today and your card will be printed and hand delivered, along with a fun goody bag, as a part of the hospital’s Halloween festivities.
#3) Reverse Trick-Or-Treat for a sick friend
HIf it’s difficult for your friend or their child to get out of the house this Halloween
#4) Carve a pumpkin and deliver it to a friend who is struggling with depression or other health issues
Carve a pumpkin and deliver it to someone who is unable to indulge in Halloween festivities this year. Don’t forget a candle. And big hugs!! :o)
